PERFORMANCE ACTOR (STAGE) - ACT IIIGo Back Enrol Now

Program: PERFORMANCE ACTOR (STAGE)
Program Group: ACT III View Synopsis

ACT III curriculum is written for children generally aged 9-12 years. Curriculum covers improvisation skills, the actor’s voice, characterization, movement & mime, stagecraft skills and theatre etiquette. Script work also extends language & reading skills and
improves speaking in clear expressive English while rehearsal and performance work enhances socialization and interpersonal skills.

Acting Antics ethos is "Self Discovery Through Performance". to that end all students audition for and perform in two plays a year. The first is specific to that group of students and may include a radio play or a standard "blocked" play, the second is a gala performance involving all students at that venue.  In the gala performance the ACT III students take the leading roles while the ACT II students take the smaller roles. Acting Antics plays are written to fully extend older more experienced students while nurturing younger or lesser experienced students and are renowned for offering every acting student a meaningful role with dialogue.

Play Synopsis

Imagine being told by your parents, the King and Queen, that to save the Kingdom you have to find a wife! But not just any wife, she has to be a real princess and approved of by… YOUR MOTHER! The Queen orders the pompous Dukes of Tweedle to search the four corners of the realm for a princess worthy of her Prince Rupert. While his faithful friend the Jester and his fairy Godfather console Prince Rupert, the Tweedles embark upon an adventure to Africa, Asia, the Pacific and the frozen North, where they find 4 beautiful princesses. But will these princesses be good enough for the Queen? and why is the King keeping strangely silent? And who is Emmaline? She says she's a princess but she certainly doesn't act like one! And last but not least, who is "THE PEA" and what could she have to do with the final decision?
