MUSICAL THEATRE

Program Synopsis:

This program gives students the opportunity to discover the magical exciting world of Musical Theatre while developing as confident young singers and dancers. The singing component focuses on pitch, tone, rhythm, diction and expression while the dance component focuses on the basics of Broadway style dance.

Students do not need to have any previous singing or dance experience, however, if they are already having individual singing lessons or are in a choir, the dance and performance component of this program will enhance their development and confidence. Those that are already attending specific dance classes will love the creative aspect of these classes.

ACT II

This program gives students the opportunity to discover the exciting world of Musical Theatre. The singing component focuses on pitch, tone, rhythm, diction and expression while the dance component focuses on basic "Broadway Jazz" dance steps that help with coordination, rhythm and counting. These basic skills are choreographed into song and dance routines that focus on enjoyment, fun and the art of entertaining that is confident, natural and expressive. Song & Dance numbers are carefully chosen so they are age appropriate, yet off a variety of styles and genres.
